  1. HNLC, Meghalaya based insurgent group, banned by Government
  • The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has recently banned the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC). It was banned because of its anti-national activities.
  • All the leading organisations associated with this group have been openly declaring for a long time that their objective is to separate the region of Meghalaya (Khasi and Jaintia with tribal majority population) from the Union of India.
  • Ministry of Home Affairs has been banned 43 such groups across the country. All these organizations were involved in anti-national activities.
  1. Indian Railways to start Golden Chariot service from March next year
  • Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corp (KSTDC) signed an MoU to operate Golden Chariot train.
  • Golden Chariot will be a luxurious train that will connect 15 tourism destinations in the country.
  • Earlier, it was started by the Karnataka Government but suspended due to huge losses. IRCTC is already running luxurious Maharaja Express Train.
  1. CBIC to organise 29th Regional Contact Points (RCP) meeting of Asia Pacific (A/P) region
  • The 29thRegional Contact Points (RCP) meeting of Asia Pacific (A/P) region of the World Customs Organization (WCO) isbeing organised by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) at Puducherry from 18th to 20th November, 2019
  • WCO is the only inter-governmental international organisation engaged in setting up and implementaiton of principles and standards for cross border procedures and Customs.
  • Globally, WCO consist of six regions, each headed by a member country as Vice Chair of that region of WCO. India is member of Asia Pacific region of WCO and is also currently the Vice Chair since July 2018.
  • The last RCP was organised in Nov 2018 in Jaipur.
  • This is an important annual meeting in the region and is designed to address regional development in a number of areas, to discuss on various issues linked to cross border trade procedures and to enhance communication and experience sharing between the member countries.


  1. NHM Jammu & Kashmir launched BMEWMP programme in J&K, Ladakh
  • National Health Mission Jammu & Kashmir, has launched the Bio-Medical Equipment Waste Management Programme (BMEWMP) in the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
  • The biomedical equipment management was the need of the hour to improve the patient care facilities in the health care institutions.
  • The objectives of the program are designed in a way that the equipment in the district level health care facility will have an uptime of 95%, in sub-district hospital 90% and in PHC 80%.
  1. UP government to rename Agra to Agravan
  • The Yogi Adiyanath-led Uttar Pradesh State government is planning to rename Agra to Agravan.
  • The state government has asked the history department of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Agra to look for historical evidence if the city was known by any other name.
  • The researchers have begun the research regarding the name change. Earlier, it has changed the names of Allahabad to Prayagraj, Faizabad to Ayodhya, and Mughalsarai to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar.


  1. World Talent Ranking Report: India ranks 59, slipped six places
  • India has slipped six places to the 59th position in the new World Talent Ranking of EMD. The reason for this ranking is less spending on quality of life and education.
  • Switzerland ranks first in this list of 63 countries. This ranking is based on performance in three major categories – investment and development, its appeal among people and readiness.
  • China (42nd), Russia (47th) and South Africa (50th) are also present in the list. However, Denmark is second and Sweden is third.


  1. Shooter Shreyasi Singh crowned National Champion in Women’s Trap
  • Reigning Commonwealth Games champion Shreyasi Singh won the women’s Trap crown at the ongoing 63rd National Shooting Championship for shotgun events at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range (KSSR) in New Delhi
  • Shreyasi representing Bihar shot 42 out of 50 birds to claim the crown, while Rajeshwari from Punjab managed 38 hits to settle for silver. Pragati Dubey of Madhya Pradesh won bronze with a finals score of 31.
  • This was Shreyasi’s fourth individual career National title but her first in Women’s Trap.
  1. Chris Lynn scored the highest ever individual score in the T10 format
  • Australian batter Chris Lynn scored the highest-ever individual score in the T10 format on 18 November at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
  • He scored while playing for Maratha Arabians in the ongoing third edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
  • He scored 91 against 30 balls in the match against Bengal Tigers.
  • The previous record for the highest individual score in T10 was set by England batsman Alex Hales.
  • He struck a score of 87 from 32 balls.

  1. DMRC awarded for its commendable initiatives
  • The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was awarded two awards for its commendable initiatives at the 12th Urban Mobility India Conference and Expo 2019 held from 15-17 November in Lucknow, DMRC.
  • Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma gave away the awards.
  • It was awarded to promote the metro as a green and sustainable mode of transport among the masses.
  1. Arunachal Pradesh received the Best Emerging Green Tourist Destination Award
  • Arunachal Pradesh State tourism department and stakeholders were awarded the Best Emerging Green Tourist Destination Award at a function in New Delhi.
  • The award was conferred by Travel & Leisure magazine. The award was received by Dia Mirza.
  • The award recognized the tireless efforts of the department towards promoting green tourism.
  • The winner was decided through an online poll by the magazine in which the readers expressed their opinion.

  1. ISRO to Launch Cartosat-3, 13 Commercial Nano Satellites On November 25
  • Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) would launch its earth imaging and mapping satellite Cartosat-3 along with 13 commercial nano satellites from the US, on November 25,
  • The satellites would be launched by India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, PSLV-C47 into a Sun Synchronous Orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
  • The Cartosat-3 is a “third generation agile advanced satellite” having high resolution imaging capability
  • PSLV-C47 is the 21st flight of PSLV in ‘XL’ configuration (with 6 solid strap-on motors).
  • PSLV-C47 would also carry 13 commercial nano satellites from United States of America as part of commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), Department of Space

  • According to WHO and UNICEF around 60% of the global population that is approx 4.5 billion people either have no toilet at home or one that does not safely manage excreta.
