  1. India remembers martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai attack
  • The country’s largest terrorist attack took place in Mumbai on November 26, 2008. Total of 166 people including 26 foreign nationals lost their lives in this painful incident.
  • The security forces had an encounter with 10 terrorists from Pakistan for nearly 60 hours.
  • It is said that the attackers entered Mumbai via Karachi through the sea. There were four Indians aboard the same boat but they were killed before reaching the shore.
  1. Lokpal logo launched by Justice Pinaki Chandra
  • Justice Pinaki Chandra, the Chairman of Lokpal, launched the logo and motto of Lokpal on November 26.
  • The motto of Lokpal was also adopted today. Now the motto of Lokpal is – “मा गृधः कस्यस्विद्धनम्” it means “Do not be greedy for anyone’s wealth.”
  • The final logo was chosen among 2236 entries and selection of motto was also done from 4705 entries.
  1. PM Modi launches Fit India School grading system
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Fit India School grading system in schools across the country.
  • The Fit India School rankings have been divided into three categories — The Fit India Schools, which is the first level of ranking, Fit India School (3 star) and Fit India School (5 star).
  • The level of ranking will depend on how much importance the school gives to inculcating fitness among its students and teachers, besides facilities available for fitness activities.

  • Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Shri Giriraj Singh addressed entrepreneurs, milk producer farmers, academia, and media on the occasion of National Milk Day-2019 at Pusa in New Delhi.
  • Milk Production The milk production increased significantly from 137.7 million tonnes in 2013-14 to 187.75 million tonnes in 2018-19, thereby indicating an increase of 36.35%.
  • The per capita availability of milk increased from 307 grams in 2013-14 to 394 grams in 2018-19.

  • Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri launched Credit-linked Subsidy Services Awas Portal in New Delhi.
  • It provides a transparent and robust real-time web-based monitoring system for credit-linked Subsidy Services, CLSS beneficiaries. To track his application status in real-time.
  • The CLAP will be entirely instrumental in addressing the grievances of beneficiaries in a much comprehensive and organized manner.
  1. Centre introduces bill to merge Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli in Lok Sabha
  • The Center introduced the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Merger of Union Territories) Bill 2019 in Lok Sabha.
  • About the Bill The bill seeks to merge the two union territories into one that is yet to be taken up for consideration and passage in the Lower House, was introduced by the minister of state for home affairs G. Kishen Reddy.
  • The move comes three months after Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two UTs Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

  1. Guru Ghasidas National Park to be declared as Tiger Reserve
  • It has been announced to make Guru Ghasidas National Park located in Chhattisgarh a tiger reserve.
  • Currently, Chhattisgarh has three Tiger Reserves – Achanakmar Tiger Reserve, Udanti-Sitanadi Tiger Reserve and Indravati Tiger Reserve.
  • It was also decided by the state government to construct Lemru Elephant Reserve in Chhattisgarh.
  1. 8th Edition Of International Tourism Mart Opens At Imphal
  • The 8th International Tourism Mart has been organised at Imphal, Manipur The Theme of 2019 International Tourism Mart is “Sustainable Tourism an engine for Economic Growth and Employment”.
  • It was inaugurated by the Minister of State (I/C) for Culture & Tourism, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel and Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N. Biren Singh.
  • The event has been organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the North Eastern States.
  • It is an annual event organised in the North Eastern region with the objective of highlighting the tourism potential of the region in the domestic and international markets.
  1. Indian Railways restores train services in Kashmir Valley
  • Indian Railways restored train services to benefit the thousands of local commuters to travel by train over the entire area between Baramulla to Banihal (138 Km).
  • The decision to re-start the train services in Kashmir valley after due security audits and assurance by Government Railway Police, Jammu & Kashmir.
  • The Rail snow cutting machines were pressed into the service to clear snow over railway tracks.

  • Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) inked a memorandum of understanding with the Times Group for organizing the 65th Filmfare Awards here on February 15, 2020.
  • The MoU signed in the presence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Bennett Coleman and Company Limited managing director Vineet Jain.

  1. Bangladesh announces several measures to control air pollution
  • The government of Bangladesh has announced to shut down illegal brick kilns across the Dhaka. The government also ordered to stop garbage burning.
  • It was also decided by the government that the city corporation will spray water on the streets. Apart from that, all construction sites like metro construction work will have to follow environmental law.

  1. Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank ink MoU for vehicle financing
  • Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland has tied up with ICICI Bank for vehicle loans for a period of two years.
  • The agreement will enable both the partners to offer customised financial solution to customers across the country with focus on semi-urban and rural geographies
  • With this MoU, ICICI Bank will be a preferred financier for providing finance to customers buying ALLAshok Leyland vehicles.
  • The bank will work in close coordination with the authorised dealers of Ashok Leyland to provide financial solutions to the customers,

  1. India bag 28 medals including 13 gold in U-15 Asian Wrestling C’ships
  • In wrestling, India concluded its campaign at the Under-15 Asian Championships with 28 medals, including 13 gold, 14 silver and a bronze as they won 5 gold on the last day at Taichung, China.
  • 2019 Cadet World Championships bronze medallist Deepak Chahal, the freestyle grapplers captured four gold while one gold came in the Greco-Roman category.
  • While Chahal won the gold in 75kg, Vishal in 62kg, Sagar Jaglan in 68kg and Jatin in 85kg were the others who finished on the top podium.
  • For the first time, India finished on top of the team rankings in freestyle category with 225 points as all 10 wrestlers finished on the podium. Kazakhstan finished second while Japan was third.
  1. Sangram Dahiya, Varsha Varman win double trap national titles
  • Haryana’s Sangram Dahiya and Varsha Varman of Madhya Pradesh clinched double trap titles, winning gold at the 63rd National Shotgun Shooting Championship in New Delhi
  • In men’s category, Sangram shot 142 out of 150 targets to leave behind former world champion Ankur Mittal, who managed 137 hits over the five rounds of 30 targets each to win a silver.
  • Punjab’s Prithvi Singh Chahal won bronze with a score of 135.
  • Both Sangram and Varsha also won the team gold for their respective States.

  1. Devendra Fadnavis resigns as Maharashtra chief minister
  • The Maharashtra assembly needs to prove the majority; the BJP found itself wanting for numbers and decided to pull the plug on its bid for power.
  • Fadnavis announced his resignation to Governor BS Koshyari since the BJP was not in a position to form the government.

  • The 30th edition of Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) commenced on November 21. It is set to conclude on December 8.
  • Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui received Lesley Ho Asian Film Talent Award at the Singapore International Film Festival for his Netflix’s Emmy-nominated original series Sacred Games.
  • The actor received the award from a business tycoon from Beijing, Charles Ho.

  1. Intel Partners With MediaTek to Bring 5G Support to Laptops
  • MediaTek planned to partner with Intel, the Taiwanese chipmaker, to be the first original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to deliver laptops powered by Intel and MediaTek’s 5G solution.
  • Through this partnership, Intel working with MediaTek on the 5G solution for deployment in key consumer and commercial laptop segments.
  • MediaTek is developing the 5G modem and working with partners to manufacture the solution.

  1. India Celebrates Samvidhan Divas on November 26
  • Constitution Day is celebrated in India on November 26 every year.
  • On this day, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect on January 26, 1950.
  • It is known as National Law Day or Samvidhan Divas.
  • The union government planned year-long activities throughout the country to mark 70 years of the adoption of the Constitution.
